SmartVOX® Alert Solution – Lescar (64)

Solution SmartVOX®

Lescar Town Council (64) contacted ae&t to install an ‘attack and intrusion’ alarm as part of the specific security plan.

The requirement: Les Prés nursery school, Victor Hugo and Laoü nursery and primary schools, Paul Fort primary school and La Calandreta private primary school, all located in Lescar, cater for over 450 pupils. These pupils are spread across these five schools throughout the municipality. As part of the Special Security Plan, audible alarms must be installed throughout the school complexes to alert teaching staff and pupils in the event of a high-risk situation.

The solution: ae&t, a French manufacturer of alert and security solutions, acted swiftly to provide a solution that was easy to use and implement, and met the requirements. Following on-site trials, it was determined that 18 SmartVOX® voice alarms and 30 radio remote controls were required. These are distributed amongst staff at nursery and primary schools, with one remote control available in each canteen. The proposed system enables the broadcast of warning sounds and voice messages tailored to specific emergency situations, and provides instructions on how to respond, such as sheltering in place or evacuation.

SmartVOX® devices communicate with each other via LoRa radio: this means there is no need for any cabling between the devices, which simplifies installation and reduces costs. In the event of a danger, the voice message announcing the situation is easily triggered. Thanks to the loudspeakers sound output and audio synchronisation, the message is perfectly audible and understandable to teaching staff and young pupils.

Following on-site sound tests, the SmartVOX® voice alarms were easily installed and configured.

Lescar Town Council has approved the SmartVOX® voice alarms and now has an effective, simple and scalable public emergency warning system with low installation costs.
