SmartVOX® Alert Solution – Toulouse Regional Education Authority
The security manager at the Toulouse Regional Education Authority (31) contacted ae&t directly to set up an alert system to deal with attacks and major risks, as part of the specific security plan.
The requirement: the Toulouse Regional Education Authority is the largest in France in terms of floor space. It comprises a main building of xxx m², housing the National Education services at academy level, and accommodates xxx management staff. As part of the Specific Security Plan, an alert system, audible throughout the education authority, must be put in place to warn everyone present in the event of a high-risk situation.
The solution: ae&t, a French manufacturer of alert and security solutions, acted swiftly to provide a solution that was easy to use and implement, and met the requirements. Following on-site trials, it was determined that 24 SmartVOX® voice alarms and 4 trigger units were required to meet the need.The proposed system enables the broadcasting of alert sounds and voice messages tailored to specific situations such as assault, intrusion, or natural or technological hazards and provides instructions on how to respond, such as sheltering in place or evacuation. SmartVOX® devices communicate with each other via LoRa radio: this means there is no need for any cabling between the devices, which simplifies installation and reduces costs.
In the event of a hazard, the voice message announcing the situation is easily triggered. Thanks to the loudspeakers’ sound output and audio synchronisation, the message is perfectly audible and intelligible across all seven floors of the building, including the basements. Configuration and commissioning were carried out by an ae&t project manager, in accordance with the requirement of the local education authority.
The SmartVOX® alert system meets the need for efficiency and ease of implementation. Following on-site sound tests, the SmartVOX® voice alarms were easily installed and configured.
