SmartVOX® and LED lighting for a metalworking company

The metal materials company, based in the south of France, has set two priority objectives. Firstly, it wishes to install a process alarm to trigger when the furnaces are opened, as temperatures inside can reach 1000 °C. Secondly, it is focusing on prevention and employee awareness to ensure their safety in the event of danger, particularly in the event of a fire.

The requirement: The requirement is to install audible, voice and visual alarm systems for process alarms triggered when furnaces are opened or malfunction, in order to alert, protect and safeguard employees.

The solution: Following a series of sound and vocal tests, 4 SmartVOX® units and 11 PBV2 RGB LED pyramid lights were ordered.

These are distributed across casting blocks, each comprising two furnaces, making a total of three units. Each SmartVOX® is configured with customised sounds and messages, delivering high-quality audio via the LoRa radio link.

The PBV2 RGB LED pyramid lights are configured to flash in different colours to signal maintenance faults. Their strategic placement ensures excellent visibility and effectiveness in the event of an alert.

The company has approved the use of SmartVOX® and PBV2 RGB LED pyramid beacons as an effective, customisable and scalable warning system.
