SmartVOX® for a paper pulp manufacturer

Based in the south-west for over 60 years, a long-established pulp producer and employer of several hundred staff is seeking a General warning application alert solution to notify and warn its staff across offices and production lines, and to strengthen it and intrusion alert systems.

The requirement: The company wishes to install audible warning devices throughout its site. The purpose of these devices is to alert and inform employees working in high-noise areas of the risks and hazards to which they may be exposed. Pulp production involves the use of large machinery, which generates high noise levels. The industrial site covers several hectares, which reinforces the need for an effective warning system that can be heard everywhere.

The solution: Following a series of sound tests, 22 SmartVOX® units were installed and positioned throughout the production plant and at strategic locations: the security post, the control room and the crisis room. To activate the customised sounds and messages, 3 six-button control units and a radio-controlled glass-break alarm were ordered for remote triggering.

The ae&t engineering department configured the alert scenarios based on the specific requirements requested by the company: General warning application, intrusion alerts and alert termination. Should new requirements arise, this industrial site will be able to customise its alerts.

The company is satisfied with the installation of SmartVOX® radio voice alarms at its site as an effective, customisable and scalable alert solution.
